Credit access issues addressed at the 2011 Faegre Franchise Summit

Over 120 franchise leaders from 50 companies and 20 states packed into Faegre & Benson’s elegant headquarters in Minneapolis August 12-13 for the 2011 Faegre Franchise Summit featuring credit access issues and a keynote address by IFA Chairman Jack Earle.

The Summit, led by Faegre partner and IFA Credit Access Working Group Supplier co-chairman Brian Schnell, emphasized the importance of change, collaboration and courage in franchise systems, especially in today’s challenging economy. “Two areas of specific focus were credit access and franchise leadership,” said Schnell. “At Faegre & Benson we believe those two key areas are difference makers for all the different stakeholders in a franchise system.” A diverse range of franchisors, franchisees and lenders including Guidant Financial and Franchise America Finance participated in the Summit. Faegre gathered partners from across its franchise and business practices to offer counsel and answer questions.

IFA Senior Vice President of Government Relations & Public Policy Judith Thorman offered perspectives on the fiscal climate in Washington and participated in several sessions including those focused on labor and international issues.
